I had the pleasure of working with Shaun in my last season as a professional footballer. Over the course of my twelve year playing career, in which I played in different leagues across Asia I can say with absolute certainty Shaun is one of if not the best strength and conditioning coaches I worked with!

 

Despite being 37 years of age, under Shaun’s guidance I didn’t miss a single game through injury and was able to hit some of my best numbers physically especially with reference to max speed.

 

There were times when Shaun and I would work together on a match day -1, where he would help me prepare for matches with some great activation and technical drills. I played some of my best games after these sessions.

 

In a team with very limited resources and a really broken culture Shaun always maintained his professionalism and went above and beyond what was expected of him both within the team environment and how he invested in himself to become the best strength and conditioning coach he can be.

Callum Beattie

I started working with Shaun when I joined the Hong Kong Football club for the 24/25 season as our strength and conditioning coach. He was great for me during my time there as he made sure I was able to minimize injuries by controlling the amount of training, conditioning, and keeping to a diet that would ensure I was able to play 100% on match days. Even when I did have a couple injuries during the season, Shaun would give me a programme to stick to ensure I would come back stronger and decrease the chance of getting injured again. I then moved to Kitchee SC for this season and I had a couple of fitness sessions with Shaun over the summer to prepare me going into pre-season and it was great. From training with Shaun I was able to go into pre-season with a clear mind and feeling fit

Just wanted to drop you a note saying a massive thanks for the help last season. I’ve had injury issues for most of my career and last season I was really struggling around the Xmas period trying to come back from my knee injury, but the guidance, patience, and support you gave me set me up to have half a season with very little to zero injury issues. You helped me both physically and mentally so I really do appreciate it, thanks mate.

I've been training with Shaun the last two years as well. I find it a very good experience with him. He's always the first person I come to when it comes to preseason during season and off season as well. He's always giving me really good advice with strength training, building power through plyometrics and prehabbing to prevent any injuries. How also to prepare correctly before training and games, what to eat and much more.

 

He always focuses on the fine margins. How to get better in all realms which I need myself from a guidance perspective. So I'm very appreciative of that.

 

This season has been different so I've come off from the off-season for the first time and it's definitely worth it. He has a little bit of equipment and he has technology to really up your game and know what you need to strengthen on your weaknesses. Again it's just the fine margins, which I find very useful for me going into the next season so I know what to improve. It's been nothing but good training sessions and recovery. With Shaun overall it's been very good and successful.

After playing at elite levels at the academy level and in a top division in Europe professionally, I can honestly say Shaun’s work is some of the best I’ve had in my career. I really enjoy the detailed and specific warm ups before we start trainings. The mobility we do has really helped me have a good hip rotation and this has directly helped me stay away from injuries. All of last season I hadn't picked up any muscular injuries and I would attribute that thanks to the help of Shaun’s guidance.

Working with Shaun has been an absolute pleasure.  

As an athlete who has always struggled with injuries, I was hoping to work with someone who can focus both on performance whilst attending to the rehab needed.  

The way Shaun has programmed all of my needs into each phase has been phenomenal. I’ve seen a massive amount of gains in my overall strength, specifically in my legs. I am running with no injuries, and my confidence is higher in certain movement patterns, which is translating to my performance in the ring.  

Having Shaun gives me the confidence I need in an S&C coach. 

He always puts first my concerns, my needs, and tailor the program around my main sport — boxing.  

 

I’ll continue to work with Shaun and would recommend him to any athlete.
